Robert Lonn I finally took the plunge and had to discover myself on this radio comfortable. People complained about receiving the SSB filter. I was glad I made the decision to buy this radio as my radio has no such problems with a serial number for 1400! A QSO took place this morning at 3872.00. I turned my Yaesu HF system to check this was exactly 3872.00 LSB. To start the comparison with various other radio, I sat ETON E-1 to 3872.00 and hit the LSB and bingo, the sound was fine, as you'd expect. Time for Sony ICF-2010. Same results in the first place I hit the USB and sound was faint, but audible, hit the correct setting LSB, and the sound was loud and clear. OK, now on Satellite 750th Places the 3872 radio hit, USB BFO fixed at 1 o 'clock position, normal and sound was faint, but audible, and proposed LSB audio was strong and clearly acted the 750 exactly the same as Sony .... . It tells me that the 750 has absolutely no problem with SSB reception ... Of course, the manual is not clear at 1 o 'clock position for SSB control. It came from the factory established by 1 clock. My Collins 75A-4 is a 1-LSB and clock position for a 11-clock mode for the USB, the 750 works the same way ... Since the 750 pieces in 1 kHz steps, you will have to accept the SSB button at times, but the USB and LSB bandpass circuit is in order. Yes, they should tune the radio in 100 Hz steps, if SSB did, but it is not the case. E-1, tune in 10 Hz steps, but it does not. Sony tunes in 100 Hz increments, so you can participate in SSB, but not quite .. For this reason, the 750 better than the ICF-2010 ... I used the narrow filter for this test. OK, now until the end of the filter .. After playing with this for about 10 minutes on local AM stations, and I mean to lay close to the S-meter, I would say that the filter is a very light kick on the edge, I mean, at least 4 kHz. + O - 3 KHz signal sandwiches just outside the normal operation, you hit 4 KHz on each end of the S-meter is a bit ', but at 4 kHz is already losing the signal and reach the end of the filter. But + - 2 kHz, the S-meter is flat .. If something is obvious, I do not see it. Tune to the station, the S-meter is limited, adjust the gap on each side and the S-meter will fall as you hit 5 kHz mode off. I used the attenuator to keep the S-meter in his mid-range. I'm not saying that something is missing, but after careful consideration, I see nothing that indicates a problem. I have the Scott and BR show hours sports, 1090, San Diego XX1090, and are in the range of position for the full audio ... Sounds great! Well, all this positive talk, there must be something that worries me, right? I have a concern over the battery cover that has a very sensitive, as the radio at all. This is not a radio to take to the beach, this does not mean that the battery cover is not strong and you just have to be careful. E-1 battery cover has the same concern, but so far after changing the batteries many Eton E-1 covers still. This is a fun radio to use. Keyboard input is fast and flawless, you can not say the same for E-1. E-1 has pushed to have the decimal, 750 no ... I have no memory or scan the features or timer mode, but .. It should be easy ... The monitoring review of the times is out of line ... The assumptions made are not qualified with many parts of the assessment. He was worried that it was just a double conversion and a triple conversion may have problems with strong local signals. Here in San Diego, is not the case .... Plus with a win-loss RF and 3 positions, you'd never have a problem with zero and attenuation of RF gain and tuning around a 75K-watt AM station, 690, no problem, and I was bigger than the antenna NULL 90% of this.

A surprisingly good portable by William Karda I recently purchased the new model 909X and did some technical testing to 909x compared to my Tecsun 750th Pl-390 and Grundig First the FM reception 909X excellent FM reception, both number of received stations and tonal quality. I could easily log in 18 RDS stations from my location in central Florida during the day. In the case of tonal quality, which is where 909X is a good laptop. The built-in amplifier and speakers with high quality, allowing the listener a series of FM sound quality approaching my Tivoli Audio Songbook Radio. This contributes to excellent sound quality for AM reception as well. My next test on the shortwave bands. I was surprised at the sensitivity of the radios and, again, a good tonal quality of voice and music SW. Although my Grundig 750 and PL-390 TECSUN very sensitive to short-wave radios, is the big plus in the 909X a very high signal-to-noise ratio, which means that weak signals received on the Grundig 750 and P-390 TECSUN with a lot of background come Noise . The 909X, however, has a surprisingly low level of background noise on various shortwave. Against this background level, low noise of weak signals can be heard more and less boring copy. In addition, the 909X seems to all short wave sensitive. Even the normally low sensitivity of 26-28MHz band on most phones, I was easily able to recruit some of the traffic on the CB radio higher frequency. I also tested medium wave, and found it just as sensitive as my Grundig 750, worked well again with better sound quality and filter wide / narrow to separate the strong from weak stations. Just to mention some other things that these portable lights are set to alpha-numeric page memory system, the world time in many cities that are synchronized automatically when you set in your local time, and the many ways you can tune stations 909X can even have a squelch control in addition to an effective RF gain control. Because of the very low background noise of 909X, I have squelch operation even in their search for weak shortwave signals So in conclusion only on the radio for a long time made available to the whip, and better, the role of antenna acompanying radio is the 909X one big to carry around laptops to carry on trips, and in its beautiful case. I can not stress enough the large signal to noise ratio of this radio. Yes, 909X rather large and expensive compared to other notebooks. But what you get in this package is a great high-quality speakers and a large built-in audio amplifier of very wide scope. 47 of 51 people found the following review helpful. Updated sensational ATS-909X Arthur Mortensen I bought this direct from Taipei because of a detailed communication and impressive, but the price here is much better Well, this information was PR, but in the case of this complete redesign of the ATS-909 was quite close to the operation of the product. I used a variety of laptops over the years, including the brilliant, but quite heavy, Sony ICF-2010 and its successor, the fine 7600GR. I also tried some of the new wave Chinese competitors, including the Degen 1103, probably the best shortwave radio expensive ever made. Sangean, however, is not competing with Degen and Kaito. Established for a long time as a producer of superb portable, took some heat for the ATS-909. I can not comment on this model because I've never tried one. The ATS-909X, however, I think that is the successor of Sony 7600GR as the best laptop for its wide range of reception, including FM, LW, MW and SW winds. AM is the interval (note: ATS909X not allow detection of sync with DSP and bandpass digital rather than trying to identify the weak signals, but not a bad thing, just a different way to tackle the same problems) from 150 to 29,999. The MW can.

The best deal going shortwave radio portable bigdoug42 Only a small premium, I bought a Sony ICF-SW7600GR, not at all well, came back and got the radio. My first experience with this brand and I must say I am impressed with this radio. It has a lot of value with the radio in office, the large backlit display, rotary tuning and volume, upper and lower SSB, etc. Check the radio reception is very good on all bands, I have recommended. It 'a winner! 25 of 28 people found this review helpful. Review Craig, great radio ever made! By W. Zhao This is the latest offering from Tecsun and, possibly, their best so far. It is a dual conversion radio with a myriad of functions, including synchronous detection. My sample was first generation unit which means that the display light will stay for 3 seconds after the control is activated. New units will have lights that stay on for 30 seconds Other changes include new speed tuning. Operation and Layout: Layout is very easy. BFO adjustment knob and non-digital volume control located on the right. Antenna Terminal (FM / short wave), the main antenna gain, change the low tone, headphone jack and external power are located on the left. All other controls are on. After turning on the radio and selecting a band, you can choose one of three modes of use: VF, VM, or scanning. If you choose to VF (frequency mode) to vote as you would any radio frequencies or input directly from the keyboard. If you select MS (Memory Mode) using the adjustment knob to "browse" through the stations. If you choose the scanning mode, the receiver will stop for 5 seconds at each station and proceed to the next. Memories can be stored manually or automatically using ATS (auto tuning system). This is a very handy feature that automatically saves stations.T There are two options, but I will fashion A as an example, select the AM band and hold the same button for a second and can be used. The radio will be silenced, and dispay will literally begin to count the received station until it reaches the end of the tape. The button can now be used to be perceived by all stations over the "dead frequencies" rolled. The threshold, or squelch is low enough that even the quietest stations counted as valid. In the past I have made radios useless with this feature because the squelch is set to high also causes a strong transmitter to miss. These memories will stay on until the ATS back the previously stored memories to write about. What makes this feature even more interesting is that literally give you an indication of the atmospheric conditions from day to day. Some nights during a scan you can get 70 stations,,,, 85 the next night Selectivity radio has two selected bandwidths. I would suspect 6kHz. and 3 kHz? These are shown in parentheses instrument is as backward differnt widths also has a sync detector to assist in selecting the individual stations, if you listen to a weak station that 800khz and find a strong admixture of a power to enable synchronization 790 and select USB (upper Side Band), which will eliminate most interference. This does not change the tone of the sound a bit but it works great! If the signal becomes too much during the week to work synchronization, the SYNC is flashing on the screen. Sync can reduce fading a bit, but works best as a separator of the season. Selectable SSB BFO included for shortwave enthusiasts. Find a radio operator and select the right side of the band (usually under ten megs LSB and USB 10Megs above) and fine-tune the BFO to decode those broadcasts. It is very stable in use. Sensitivity: MW sensitivity is quite good, due to a nearly 5 'internal antenna, but I would like to further improve reception with a tunable loop ... WA state I just CKMX Utah and KFI Los Angeles and received CKNW New Westminster, British Columbia.

Do not replace my Eton E5: (For jr_Tech I had high hopes for this radio, hoping that I could replace my hard and beat Eton E5 Unfortunately, this is not the case, while the G3 add some features, such as aircraft band .. is the LSB / USB, RDS and a sync detector (which sorta works), several important features / characteristics E5 is not transferred to the new model. 1st FM sensitivity is not so good. Many FM stations in Eugene, Oregon (about 110 miles away) that are easy to catch E5 can still be heard with the G3, but clearer and much more effort to get the antenna "fair". 2nd MW (AM) sensitivity is not that good ... compared side each other on several weak AM stations have decent performance with E5 hear more noise and static on the G3. 3. The same applies LW. .. more aircraft beacons are heard, but with more whistling in the G-3. 4th The "wide / narrow" switch does not work as "the voice / music" tone control on FM, as it does in E5 5. The buttons are not illuminated in G3. 6. Adjustment measures increased from 25 kHz to 50 kHz in FM ... not what is required to pull a weak DX station is the first by a great site! The positives: 1. RDS works well. 2. SSB stations are much easier to tune the E5 G3. 3. The band of aircraft that is functional, it will be great for air shows. 4. Under certain conditions (the seasons are not very weak) detector provides improved synchronization. I think that has to be set from 1 kHz to make it work, then there may be some alignment problems with my radio in particular. The feature does not work as well as it does on my Sony ICF-SW7600GR and is not even close to the performance of my Sony ICF 2010! 5. The G3 is less likely to "overload" in areas of strong signs that the E5 ... Perhaps the sensitivity was reduced in order to provide better shelter for the inhabitants of the cities at the expense of reduced DX So I'll keep my old beat Eton E5, and use both ... sad! Update: 19/05/10 I have read many comments / observations suggest that the problems of sensitivity and detection of the synchronization of early production units have been corrected. This model could be useful to get a second chance. 28 of 33 people found this review helpful. Radio very nice, better than the G6 NathanBrazil because I am a collector of radio, I have over 200 in my collection from 1920 to today. Allows you to handle a complaint, the weather is bad, bad would be a better description. This discription is also true for almost any radio less than $ 1000.00. The SYNC on this radio performs as well as the Sony 7600GR is not very good. Personally I found this to be of questionable value. Now for the good stuff: SSB function on this radio is the best I've seen on a small portable radio, you can choose either USB or LSB, and it also allows a fine adjustment via a rotary knob. A large inprovement on G6. The plane band works very well in my area (about 10 miles from DFW Airport). FM stations come in very well up and down to select. The local AM stations come in great, even in my office building. To fair I live and work in Dallas, Tx and there are många AM and FM stations nearby. The short wave performance is very good, in line with my favorite portable radios to the Sony 7600GR, ICF SW100E Grundig Yachtboy 400, Degen 1102, and 909th ATS The radio itself is quite small, less than 7600GR. It feels like it is done well, will say only this time safely. It also has RDS capability. I have not found any stations to test this feature is not on yet. The radio also has a line in / out port, which is a little unusual for a small radio. Business in the internal memory is easy to use as I really use this during the aircraft band. All my previous tests were only using the built-in whip antenna. 18 of 21 customers found this review helpful. poor, poor quality.

Get the e100 if you have extra $ $ $ roll to Bud, I bought this radio a few weeks and so far I am very happy. This radio is an ultra lightweight, only slightly larger than a deck of cards. I wanted a specific goal: a stable radio reception to offer me entertained when I run. Every other day, I go for a run of one hour, and despite the fact that two iPods (shuffle and video), I enjoy listening to live radio when I run. Ipods are great, but unless you upload content on a daily basis, they are boring. Even if you have 10,000 songs on your iPod, these are all old songs tomorrow! Before I bought and tried a Sony SRF-M37, based on glowing reviews online. I came the next day: the sound terrible, even the poor reception of the strongest stations in my city, Winnipeg (Canada). I decided to try the Grundig Eton G1100 after trying local origin (the former "Radio Shack") I have not found many reviews on this online radio, so I thought I could share my opinions. Here's what I like about it: 1) It uses two AA batteries instead of AAA batteries. This provides plenty of power for headphones, Grado SR80 headphones also full size as the Sennheiser HD 485 o. Both headsets, among other things, to improve the sound quality immensely. 2) The reception has been excellent so far. Listening to AM and FM bands, and all the listening stations to come in crystal clear when I run out. 3) The rubber coating on the radio, it is easy to grasp with one hand. This is ideal when you travel, which I think is the target of a radio of this size. 4) Large, easy to read LCD screen lights up automatically when you press the buttons, or when you turn the dial. 5) Simple and easy: Just like on the radio on my desk in Boston receptive g1100 Grundig has a simple logic to press the button, turn the automatic adjustment, volume control, and you're ready! No knowledge of dampers, local / DX adjustments, or the difference between mono / stereo FM radio is required to use these functions if you like, consider a different model. If you like a lot of options, try the Eton E100: Radio Nice, but expensive ($ 90 dollars in my town). 6) small speakers do not work when you want to use headphones. The sound is bright and surprisingly small given the size of it. But it works in a pinch, not music, but good for the radio show. The internal speaker is also useful, because sometimes the headphones produce more static and interference on the radio (which I found not only in this radio, but others like my Sony 7600gr). Disconnect the headphones and use the internal speaker often alleviates interference caused by headphone. I have an e100 Eton, which has a speaker that sounds better, with a switch to reduce high-frequency sounds the best e100, but is more expensive. 7) Headphones FM sound is clear. With good headphones, which is capable of producing decent sharp and clear with good stereo separation. The sound is bright, very sharp, but pleasant. It really depends on the headphones you use. Still be audible, but not as authoritarian M37 Sony. The sound is better on my Sony 7600gr, but I paid six times the price for the radio, so I hope it sounds better. The Eton E100 also sounds better on headphones, but again, it is also more expensive than the g1100. 8) Built in telescopic antenna for FM: I think that's why this radio is much better on FM stations to take over the M37 Sony. Other portable radios just tried to use the headphone cable to get FM. 9) This thing just looks good. Making charcoal, almost black out, simple uncluttered interface and the manual adjustment knob, it looks retro and modern at the same time, there are some disadvantages to consider: 1) No presets: I wanted to set.

Great little radio for the price of Gregory Roscow I wanted a small shortwave radio to charge enough and not too expensive - somewhere between toys and $ 100 + $ 20 children seriously. Well, that's it. It's not perfect, but it's pretty powerful, it has useful features, it's fun to use, looks and feels good (with a matt black soft rubber), and comes with a practical bag and earphones. Exactly what I wanted. The display is excellent, with an orange backlit screen that's the best I've ever seen in any radio of this size. Clicking the lights for a few seconds and another guard, who recently running at a frequency shift. The information on the display panel may include: frequency, battery strength, signal strength (in dB and dBmicron S / N), time, alarm, temperature, short wave band, memory, and timer (!). FM, SW and AM / LW everything sounds good to me and is reasonably sensitive FM attracts many stations, including the one I wanted most: KING-FM 98.1 in Seattle, where the more expensive Grundig Aviator A6 could not get from where I live on Vancouver Island. Ditto KOMO 1000 AM. SW reception is also good. Automatic search captures only the strongest, but the manual search can score more. I've heard that Australia, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, Tokyo, Beijing, Moscow, Zagreb, etc. in the short time I've had. It all depends on the time and the atmosphere. 6.30 for the 31m band is filled with stations. And there is continuous coverage from 3150 to 21,950 kHz, not just the choices are many shortwave radios. There was only one setting to filter out the religious stations that are so loud and clear. Scanning is the thumb wheel 1 or 5 kHz steps, or by tape or by automatic scanning in steps of 5 kHz. Both the mood and set the volume properties of the block. A particularly nice touch is that radio is the last station you listen to each band was another nice touch is the radio silence during the automatic scanning recalls. A lot of thought went into the friendliness of a small laptop. Short and long keystrokes for different functions can be annoying, but this radio, they are useful and intuitive. Hidden behind a front panel has buttons for setting presets, clock and alarm, with a recessed Reset button on your radio. There is also a big wheel to set the radio to one of the world's time zones, as is apparently the radio his name. It looks impressive, like the world map in the panel, but if you are constantly changing time zones, it is really just a marketing ruff. I had a keyboard for direct recording in this field have preferred instead. The only sore point is the weak hand that covers the basics but have no technical information on radio or help more advanced (and how to explain dBmicron dB S / N) should not have to Google things like this. Some parts of the manual is poorly explained, or simply wrong, like saying you have to tune the radio or a function when it means the opposite. I noticed the same with other Grundig / Eton manuals, also on their "serious" as the radio S350DL. Actually put to a major effort here. In spite of the bad advice, this is a very capable laptop that is easy to use and sounds good. A larger speaker would help, and there are no tone controls, although none of these sound quality greatly impaired the strongest stations. With these small reservations, serve this station 4.5 stars from me, but since you can not, I am happy to give him the fifth 99 of 102 people found this review helpful. Decent but with exceptions Still Spinning Vinyl I bought this radio to replace a Panasonic RF1100 that I had from when it was new even in 1970. The 350DL has a lot of useful features and prime them for me is the sleep timer, alarm and colck request to publish a good feeling. The overall quality of this radio is nice. Sensitivity to radios sell for much less than the cheap is good but not as sensitive as my GE Super Radio models 2 and 3 As I equipemnt more sophisticated to listen to shortwave, this was not one of my primary goals for the purchase of this radio, although the absorption of shortwave is a fine. The controls are well organized and the instructions easy to understand enough to allow you to get the full enjoyment of all this radio has to offer. The big disadvantage and disappointment I found with the 350DL Tuning There are a lot of "slop" in control, not just the button, but what is behingd panel. Another problem with the Tuning is a "resistance" abundant when trying to vote in a station, especially when voting in the shortwave stations. You tune in the desired frequency, or leave the line and you can change as it moves forward or back from where you left off. For those who want to tune around the shortwave bands to see what is there such a big disadvantage. I wonder how long the Tuning the radio will last before it collapses. The entire assembly line wiggles and oscillations while turning it on. This should not happen, and I feel is a major cause of concern. For the price of U.S. $ 100 I'm not expecting a radio MIL-SPEC, by any means, but the poorly designed system tuning this radio gives me no choice but to lower the rate is a shame that this radio also has many features worth off. If you are considering purchasing this radio to be used to receive AM and FM stations and the station does not change very often, is a decent radio. If you are thinking in line with the frequency with which different may want to consider looking for other brands and models befoe buying this. I purchse this radio, mostly for use as an alarm clock timer and night with only occasional tuning. The digital display is not completely accurate, but the price is good enough. 71 of 72 people found this review helpful. Radio Basics Big Picture is the maximum for AM / FM reception by M. Jeffrey McMahon, if you are looking for a database table without radio presets and digital tuning, you'd do well to consider the Grundig S350 Deluxe, I have owned and used during the last three years, the S350 gives you the best possible performance from FM. PM is good too. The speakerphone is loud and filled with a single. The antenna is very long. Make sure you have room to extend the antenna so any disruption is folded against a wall or ceiling. The tendency to slip into the old model S350 has been established with the new luxury model. Also like that although the analog radio, you can see the digital readout so you always know what is in season. Another highlight is the grain RF adjustments and so that you can filter everything you need in the event of overload AM. My only complaints about the S350 is really a complaint about any modern radios: They are made of lightweight plastic. Gone are the days of strong, high-quality radios. But the bottom line, if you are an advocate of AM and FM reception, you will find that you have a champion in the reception S350 75 of 87 people found the following review helpful. I bought an S350 Grunding and was irritated by the drift. I would like to tune into a station and would slow tune. I returned and bought a YB400PE Grunding. It was much better than the S350, but the SSB performance was disappointing. Also I just could not block a number of weak signals or to a station very close to a powerful transmitter. I went to the Sony 7600GR and were very happy. The synchronous detection helps a lot. You can choose between USB and LSB in making synchronous detection. This will help you with those annoying neighbors stations. If in Lower freq. select USB and vice versa. The sound quality is slightly lower than the YB400. He also has a handy snooze button. But I have a person who buys SW radio for audio quality or as an alarm clock to find. The YB400 comes with an AC adapter, but Sony does not Reel The antenna is included in both. If you are looking for a radio that can set up weak signals, allowing SSB functionality, synchronous detection, variable damping for noisy disturbances, Adio this for you. A keeper. 228 of 229 people found the following review helpful. Best Value - Get one while you can by Arne W Flon For many reasons, this is definitely the best value shortwave receivers on the market. First synchronous detector! This allows radio signals to the lock with perseverance. The discoloration and reduces noise and allows you to eliminate interference by selecting a sideband to the other side of the disturbing signal. On SW7600GR it works very well. No other radio in this price range have sync detector. Build quality second. Made in Japan. The radio feels more robust. That's it. Third sensitivity. 4th great portability. Of course there are a number of obligations. Sound through the tiny speaker is not as good as some competing products, but considering this little Sony blows away competition in almost all other respects, this is a minor quibble. The sound is not bad, just not fill the room. As a personal radio that is not a liability. Additionally, you can always use headphones or speakers connected to the auxiliary (Radio?). System memory is simple, but the labels in alphabetical order. There is no tuning knob, just run buttons for scanning of the bands. The simplicity makes for easy use, however. FM reception is respectable (much better than expensive big brother the Sony ICF-SW77). The standard AM reception is good, perhaps very good. But if you are interested in the AM band DX, already has a GE Super Radio. It has an AC adapter (and avoid buying the terrible - and terribly expensive - the official Sony adapter). If you want AC power, get an inexpensive one. I power mine with NiMH batteries that are recycled as bases to function better and can be hundreds of times, buy two sets of batteries and you have always charged a lot and ready to go. Battery consumption is correspondingly low, and the device works fine on the slightly lower voltage NiMH. As a travel radio or as an introduction to shortwave, I can think of no better device for me. Probably the best recommendation for the 7600GR is that despite all the commendable reviews, with some surprises for the first time. Initially, at just under $ 200 U.S. prices, making the current retail price of this incredible value. Now for the bad news. Sony is getting from the business band radio. These beads can no longer be available soon. So if you're interested in 7600GR, now is the time. 226 of 230 people found the following review helpful. Best shortwave under $ 200.00, as a customer I bought this radio after trying several, including Grundig YB400 portable. The reason was all cheaply made and have less than desirable receptionFurthermore, I bought the AN-LP1 loop antenna made by Sony. This should be.
