A surprisingly good portable by William Karda I recently purchased the new model 909X and did some technical testing to 909x compared to my Tecsun 750th Pl-390 and Grundig First the FM reception 909X excellent FM reception, both number of received stations and tonal quality. I could easily log in 18 RDS stations from my location in central Florida during the day. In the case of tonal quality, which is where 909X is a good laptop. The built-in amplifier and speakers with high quality, allowing the listener a series of FM sound quality approaching my Tivoli Audio Songbook Radio. This contributes to excellent sound quality for AM reception as well. My next test on the shortwave bands. I was surprised at the sensitivity of the radios and, again, a good tonal quality of voice and music SW. Although my Grundig 750 and PL-390 TECSUN very sensitive to short-wave radios, is the big plus in the 909X a very high signal-to-noise ratio, which means that weak signals received on the Grundig 750 and P-390 TECSUN with a lot of background come Noise . The 909X, however, has a surprisingly low level of background noise on various shortwave. Against this background level, low noise of weak signals can be heard more and less boring copy. In addition, the 909X seems to all short wave sensitive. Even the normally low sensitivity of 26-28MHz band on most phones, I was easily able to recruit some of the traffic on the CB radio higher frequency. I also tested medium wave, and found it just as sensitive as my Grundig 750, worked well again with better sound quality and filter wide / narrow to separate the strong from weak stations. Just to mention some other things that these portable lights are set to alpha-numeric page memory system, the world time in many cities that are synchronized automatically when you set in your local time, and the many ways you can tune stations 909X can even have a squelch control in addition to an effective RF gain control. Because of the very low background noise of 909X, I have squelch operation even in their search for weak shortwave signals So in conclusion only on the radio for a long time made available to the whip, and better, the role of antenna acompanying radio is the 909X one big to carry around laptops to carry on trips, and in its beautiful case. I can not stress enough the large signal to noise ratio of this radio. Yes, 909X rather large and expensive compared to other notebooks. But what you get in this package is a great high-quality speakers and a large built-in audio amplifier of very wide scope. 47 of 51 people found the following review helpful. Updated sensational ATS-909X Arthur Mortensen I bought this direct from Taipei because of a detailed communication and impressive, but the price here is much better Well, this information was PR, but in the case of this complete redesign of the ATS-909 was quite close to the operation of the product. I used a variety of laptops over the years, including the brilliant, but quite heavy, Sony ICF-2010 and its successor, the fine 7600GR. I also tried some of the new wave Chinese competitors, including the Degen 1103, probably the best shortwave radio expensive ever made. Sangean, however, is not competing with Degen and Kaito. Established for a long time as a producer of superb portable, took some heat for the ATS-909. I can not comment on this model because I've never tried one. The ATS-909X, however, I think that is the successor of Sony 7600GR as the best laptop for its wide range of reception, including FM, LW, MW and SW winds. AM is the interval (note: ATS909X not allow detection of sync with DSP and bandpass digital rather than trying to identify the weak signals, but not a bad thing, just a different way to tackle the same problems) from 150 to 29,999. The MW can.
