Decent but with exceptions Still Spinning Vinyl I bought this radio to replace a Panasonic RF1100 that I had from when it was new even in 1970. The 350DL has a lot of useful features and prime them for me is the sleep timer, alarm and colck request to publish a good feeling. The overall quality of this radio is nice. Sensitivity to radios sell for much less than the cheap is good but not as sensitive as my GE Super Radio models 2 and 3 As I equipemnt more sophisticated to listen to shortwave, this was not one of my primary goals for the purchase of this radio, although the absorption of shortwave is a fine. The controls are well organized and the instructions easy to understand enough to allow you to get the full enjoyment of all this radio has to offer. The big disadvantage and disappointment I found with the 350DL Tuning There are a lot of "slop" in control, not just the button, but what is behingd panel. Another problem with the Tuning is a "resistance" abundant when trying to vote in a station, especially when voting in the shortwave stations. You tune in the desired frequency, or leave the line and you can change as it moves forward or back from where you left off. For those who want to tune around the shortwave bands to see what is there such a big disadvantage. I wonder how long the Tuning the radio will last before it collapses. The entire assembly line wiggles and oscillations while turning it on. This should not happen, and I feel is a major cause of concern. For the price of U.S. $ 100 I'm not expecting a radio MIL-SPEC, by any means, but the poorly designed system tuning this radio gives me no choice but to lower the rate is a shame that this radio also has many features worth off. If you are considering purchasing this radio to be used to receive AM and FM stations and the station does not change very often, is a decent radio. If you are thinking in line with the frequency with which different may want to consider looking for other brands and models befoe buying this. I purchse this radio, mostly for use as an alarm clock timer and night with only occasional tuning. Jeffrey McMahon, if you are looking for a database table without radio presets and digital tuning, you'd do well to consider the Grundig S350 Deluxe, I have owned and used during the last three years, the S350 gives you the best possible performance from FM. PM is good too. The speakerphone is loud and filled with a single. The antenna is very long. Make sure you have room to extend the antenna so any disruption is folded against a wall or ceiling. The tendency to slip into the old model S350 has been established with the new luxury model. Also like that although the analog radio, you can see the digital readout so you always know what is in season. Another highlight is the grain RF adjustments and so that you can filter everything you need in the event of overload AM. My only complaints about the S350 is really a complaint about any modern radios: They are made of lightweight plastic. Gone are the days of strong, high-quality radios.
