Robert Lonn I finally took the plunge and had to discover myself on this radio comfortable. People complained about receiving the SSB filter. I was glad I made the decision to buy this radio as my radio has no such problems with a serial number for 1400! A QSO took place this morning at 3872.00. I turned my Yaesu HF system to check this was exactly 3872.00 LSB. To start the comparison with various other radio, I sat ETON E-1 to 3872.00 and hit the LSB and bingo, the sound was fine, as you'd expect. Time for Sony ICF-2010. Same results in the first place I hit the USB and sound was faint, but audible, hit the correct setting LSB, and the sound was loud and clear. OK, now on Satellite 750th Places the 3872 radio hit, USB BFO fixed at 1 o 'clock position, normal and sound was faint, but audible, and proposed LSB audio was strong and clearly acted the 750 exactly the same as Sony .... . It tells me that the 750 has absolutely no problem with SSB reception ... Of course, the manual is not clear at 1 o 'clock position for SSB control. It came from the factory established by 1 clock. My Collins 75A-4 is a 1-LSB and clock position for a 11-clock mode for the USB, the 750 works the same way ... Since the 750 pieces in 1 kHz steps, you will have to accept the SSB button at times, but the USB and LSB bandpass circuit is in order. Yes, they should tune the radio in 100 Hz steps, if SSB did, but it is not the case. E-1, tune in 10 Hz steps, but it does not. Sony tunes in 100 Hz increments, so you can participate in SSB, but not quite .. For this reason, the 750 better than the ICF-2010 ... I used the narrow filter for this test. OK, now until the end of the filter .. After playing with this for about 10 minutes on local AM stations, and I mean to lay close to the S-meter, I would say that the filter is a very light kick on the edge, I mean, at least 4 kHz. + O - 3 KHz signal sandwiches just outside the normal operation, you hit 4 KHz on each end of the S-meter is a bit ', but at 4 kHz is already losing the signal and reach the end of the filter. But + - 2 kHz, the S-meter is flat .. If something is obvious, I do not see it. Tune to the station, the S-meter is limited, adjust the gap on each side and the S-meter will fall as you hit 5 kHz mode off. I used the attenuator to keep the S-meter in his mid-range. I'm not saying that something is missing, but after careful consideration, I see nothing that indicates a problem. I have the Scott and BR show hours sports, 1090, San Diego XX1090, and are in the range of position for the full audio ... Sounds great! Well, all this positive talk, there must be something that worries me, right? I have a concern over the battery cover that has a very sensitive, as the radio at all. This is not a radio to take to the beach, this does not mean that the battery cover is not strong and you just have to be careful. E-1 battery cover has the same concern, but so far after changing the batteries many Eton E-1 covers still. This is a fun radio to use. Keyboard input is fast and flawless, you can not say the same for E-1. E-1 has pushed to have the decimal, 750 no ... I have no memory or scan the features or timer mode, but .. It should be easy ... The monitoring review of the times is out of line ... The assumptions made are not qualified with many parts of the assessment. He was worried that it was just a double conversion and a triple conversion may have problems with strong local signals. Here in San Diego, is not the case .... Plus with a win-loss RF and 3 positions, you'd never have a problem with zero and attenuation of RF gain and tuning around a 75K-watt AM station, 690, no problem, and I was bigger than the antenna NULL 90% of this.
