JEFFREY McMAHON half the price of my Tivoli Songbook, PR-D5 superior AM / FM reception, two stereo speakers, and easy to use ergonomics, making it even better than the Sangean Sonido single speaker. Radio as a bed, it's even better FM reception than my Sangean WR-2, but it lacks the WR-2, the depth and seriousness, qualities I like in a bed radio. Go for a lighter, radio, and no remote control for PR-D5. If you (feel remote, numerical volume indicator, heavier) more luxury on the radio and do not mind a little compromise in FM reception, you might consider Sangean WR-2, with an updated FM antenna is on the rise. One question that many of them have is why the PR-D5 is about $ 15 less than the Sonido. The answer is most likely that the 2.5 5 inch stereo speakers in the PR-D5 has no wealth and depth of 3 inches update mono speaker Audio: Ironically, I like to listen to radio programs in the two speakers. This is not a technical issue but also psychological. The voices do not seem as focused as they do in the Sangean WR mono speaker-2. So if you are a heavy listener AM talk radio, you may want to choose the WR-2. Second update: To really test the FM in the PR-D5, who tried to do in College Station weak 88.9. PR-D5 pulled into the station more clearly, even better than my Eton S350. The verdict: My PR-D5 is my best performance AM / FM radio, even better than the S350 Eton / Grundig. It says a lot. Even more amazing is the PR-D5 $ 15 cheaper. Third update: I brought my PR-D5 to my office job and that all digital radios have shown that the clinic suffered compromised. I got more with my Tivoli Model Three (as a model of a clock with extra). So for your office, if he is full of interference computer, you can deal with a high-end analogue radio, the Tivoli Model One called three or 83 of 83 people found the following review helpful. Unique design, excellent reception, price break by Mike Walsh upgrades The PR-D5 Sangean Sonido Radio properly assessed by a second column, 200 mm from the internal AM antenna CCRadio, a well-designed hand control knob, and a few taps another. The generation of the iPod looking new radio does not attract me, but it's a matter of taste, so you can judge that one for yourself. The buttons, sadly, appears to be the same type of pressure-sensitive plate used in the Sonido en CCradio, which tend to rise to the prolonged bad, but at least the addition of the adjustment knob means you can use the lower buttons so maybe this is not an important issue. I think the strange dual speakers, but the sound is clear and strong, especially in FM stereo. Mono FM cleans really weak signals, I have not found the two speakers to a problem with the voice of the morning, as Jeff McMahon wrote. The AUX input is to use a nice feature given the number of MP3 players and other gadgets like now. The backlight is off for a few seconds if you do not touch analog control - very handy. There are no real deal, only a thin ridge along the back top of the radio for the fingers to claw precarious, so do not try to pick up this thing with wet hands. The main difference between this unit is that as the beneficiary. This degree of sensitivity and selectivity of FM would be great on any laptop, but at this price I think it may be a first. Really powerful AM receiver are still rare, despite all the hype that is thrown around, but the PR-D5 is the best of them. When I ordered I was hoping that would correspond with my CCRadio aging on AM reception, and indeed found them too close to call - with the new radio for half the price of do-D5 PR former four-legged stars.
